Coalgate Mining Scam or Coalgate is allegedly a corruption scandal in which the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) office accused the Government of India for providing the nation's coal deposits to private and state-run entities in an irregular and arbitrary manner instead of publicly auctioning them off to the highest bidder, resulting 1,086,000 crore (US$196.57 billion) losses from 2004-2009.

Coalgate loss is bigger than 2G scam also and is mother of all scam by done by UPA Goverment.
According to CAG report from 2005 to 2009 57 coal fields were allocated to 100 private companies without auctioned or brought under competitive bidding. And that time there were no coal minister, so prime minister Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was in charge during those periods.

Also according to the report 194 net coal blocks aggregate 44,4440 million tonnes were allocated to different goverment and private parties upto march 31,2011.

But congress is saying CAG is not accurate.

Also CAG is saying Private parties got undue benefits of Rs 3.06 lakh cr because of without bidding. Some of the private companies are: NTPC Limited, Jindal Steel and Power, Bhushan Power & Steel Ltd, Aditya Birla Group, Essar Group, Adani Group, ArcelorMittal, Tata Power, Reliance Power etc.

Remember few days back Anna Hazare and Team first made an allegation against PM for Coal mining scam. But UPA did not listen to that at all, but in Parliament there faces comes to public.

Report alleges that firms like Tata Power and Reliance Power acquired more land than required for the power projects. CAG says that the bidding process was vitiated by allowing Reliance Power to use excess coal from three blocks allocated to the Sasan Ultra Mega Power Project.

Also its very pathetic the way current coal minister Sriprakash Jaiswal told about Coal Scam. He told to media:

- Mechanism adopted by UPA for allocation of Coal was most transparent.
- Top officers of state were involved in allocation.
- Coal blocks allocated to spur economic growth.
- Allocation was the best policy for rapid coal extraction.
- Demanding regignation of PM has become a part of cheap politics by BJP.
- Policy was not designed to benefit any private players.
- Policy chosen by the govt was most appropriate for the time.

Here is what Our Power minister Veerappa Moily said about allocation to Reliance Power for its Madhya Pradesh project.

"There is no illegality in coal blocks allocation. It is an open book. It is transparent. I am not part of any value judgement at this stage. Ultimately, it is a report given by the CAG. It is not a final finding. It will go before the Public Accounts Committee. It will go before Parliament".

Here is what Arvind Kejriwal told:
Coal Block scam against PM wud be investigated by CBI. CBI directly reports to PM. How will CBI investigate against its boss?
